For Sale - $110k

November 30th, 2005

mid-century modern

I was just through this area today. There is actually a series of homes like this one on the street. 1950’s modern.

Small, yes. Needs a lot of work, yes.
Tons of potential though.
Bigger than average city lot (8700 square feet).

Glad you caught this one. I previewed it yesterday. Good layout, great windows. I’m also fond of 4604 Lasso Path, ML 4817594, a good ’50’s home in original condition.

As a realtor who concentrates on older central Austin neighborhoods, I always keep an eye out for ‘modern’ architecture because I love the distincive homes from this period. I see them in surprising areas - all over Austin and in all price ranges. These homes often fly under the radar screen - they are not identified or marketed properly, like the mint condition MCM on Churchill that just sold and the the A.D. Stenger duplex (under contract.)

Sometimes, I have buyers for these homes, as I did when the very fine MCM on Avondale hit the market. But, when I don’t I would like to get them on your site so they get the attention (and buyer) they deserve.

Please do send them along. I pretty am doing most the research and seeking out myself, so I love when people pass along homes to be listed.

I saw the home on Lasso the other night and have it to add as well.

I am fairly new to the area (about 6 months now) so I finding out these pockets myself almost randomly.

Just yesterday, I came across a batch up near Walnut Creek park. Totally was surprised and pleased.
