Most certainly not a restoration but a full renovation & update of this Barton Hill Stenger home. I would love to see some before / after pictures. I seem to remember the original place being in not great shape and quiet a bit darker on the interior.

Also, this A-frame Stenger is either still on the market or back on the market, it is hard to tell. It makes mention of updated elements and if I remember right the prior listing didn’t have interior pictures.

Of particular interest is the Cottam Hargrave place (pictured). Long time readers may remember that the owners requested input on the design from modernaustin readers. This place has been on and off the market for the past few years and now is in foreclosure. There was period as FSBO so perhaps it never wasn’t on the market. I never knew it wasn’t fully finished out on the inside. I’ve always loved the multitude of decks overlooking the Barton Springs area.

Since the MLS isn’t providing much new lately, here is a dwell photo essay called “smaller in texas” feature a container guesthouse in San Antonio. While shipping container as an architectural base isn’t particularly new, it really has taken off in the later half of the past decade.

Mark Meyer has received plenty of positive review for his La Boite Cafe design (it certainly helps that the cafe is itself is quite good on the food & drink front as well) and is now working on sushiBox.
