I believe the owner is also the listing agent. Looks like the tile floors were there before the remodel and the bamboo was added to the bedrooms. Getting mortared tile up is such an arduous undertaking that most owners aren’t up to the chore. You can cap the whole floor with concrete or cover the tile with ply and put in hardwoods but either solution is relatively expensive and introduces problems at all the door thresholds.

I agree with Fabrizio – perhaps opting for a non 99c/tile home depot special might have been a better idea. And, yes I realize its a 250k home.

i think the floor tile comment is valid. spending 10k on some floor replacement instead of Ipe siding would’ve been a better spend in my book…

Southwood is a cool yet still affordable neighborhood. There have been some very fun remodels on Hank along with a Metrohouse development.
