Aloha.
I am leaving on vacation tomorrow and won’t be back until the Feb 2nd. I’ll be going to a place that is more know for its natural architecture than man-made modern. I’ll try to do some updates and respond to email when I can but I can’t promise much given the obvious distractions. After that I’ll be in DC for week but I usually can keep up when I am there.
I’ve had a great time back in Austin these last few months meeting a lot of wonderful people, many of them thanks to the great community that weaves through modern design lovers in Austin. I’ve gotten a lot of great input on how to make modernaustin better and hopefully I can start putting that in action when I get back.
Feel free to post modern homes in the comments here if you happen to come across any while I am away (hopefully my auto-spam filter is now reset to be a bit more liberal for first time posters).
Also mark your calendars for Feb 7th. The goodlife team, KRDB, and others are hosting a Modern Homes Tour. The focus will be on newer homes in East and Central Austin. There will also be a talk given by Chris Krager of KRDB. More info should come shortly and when it does, I’ll post it up. There will also be info at the goodlife team website when available.

Mid-Century Modern Tour Suggestions
Do you own or know of a great mid-century modern home that would be a good candidate for the Heritage Society of Austin spring tour?
They need not be grand homes, but it is better that they be preserved to period and nicely furnished with some period appropriate pieces.

For the longest time I thought these were a condo development. I recently learned otherwise and now they are getting close to completion. They will be part of an upcoming Modern Homes Tour (Feb 7th), that I’ll be posting more about shortly.

MCM on Woodview
This place has been on the market for a long time now. I quite like it. Anyone know the story? It mentions a resub of the much larger lot it sits on, so is that the hold up?

Dear Austin Board of Realtors,
Please get your shit together when it comes to the MLS database. I mean you want people to be able find & buy houses right? I know you pine for days when only you had access to listing information, but please join us here in the modern world.
